Our President & Founder

Prior to his founding of the Lean Diagnostics Institute, Dr. Allen was manager, strategic relations for United Technologies Corporation Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT.  He was responsible for enhanced strategic supply base relations through deployment and execution of domestic supplier lean enterprise development for North America. He was distinguished as the first and longest serving recipient of the prestigious Master Level ACE certification from UTC in August 2006 and held this honor for over 5 years running.

Over his 17 year career with UTC Dr. Allen had a long and well recognized history of successful supplier quality development across UTC corporate and commercial and aerospace business units including Otis Elevator, Hamilton Sundstrand, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Sikorsky Helicopter, and UTC Fuel Cells. While serving as manager, supplier development at the corporate offices of UTC from 2002 through 2006 he was a recognized leader in the development and deployment of internal and external company-wide Lean Manufacturing protocols.

With over 40 years of in-depth experience in contract management and lean enterprise development he has an extensive background in hands-on Lean implementation, business development and ethical practices within a wide variety of production and non-production business environments.

Over the years Dr. Allen has been an active member of MBE/WOB industry groups and is a double recipient of the Pratt & Whitney Small Business Advocate of the Year Award for 2007 and again in 2009. He is a student of lean principles as taught by Toyota, Shingi Jitsu, and Womack and Jones and has studied under Kevin Duggan and the Center for Advanced Purchasing Studies at the University of Arizona.

Dr. Allen earned a bachelors degree in Geology from Indiana University in 1970 and aside from his career with UTC has been a certified professional geologist in the State of Indiana for many years. He has an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and holds the PhD in Advanced Management & Decision Sciences with a specialty in Finance from Walden University.

The onsite and virtual Services provided by Lean Diagnostics Institute (LDI) at “http://www.leandiagnostics.com” are designed to help a user or client find the ability to pursue lean transformation from a financial benefit perspective. You acknowledge and agree that we may establish general practices and policies concerning use of the Services, including, without limitation, the selection of LDI 9000+ Certification candidates, maximum number of files that a member may upload from the Featured Publications page of the website, and the maximum number of times a user may access the Services in a given period of time. We reserve the right to change or discontinue any of the Services at any time.

2. Responsibility for Data

While we try to ensure that the Services are error free, we cannot guarantee that client engagement will be sufficient to assure financial success. You acknowledge and agree that we will not be responsible for any failure of our Services to assure financial success or Lean Transformation. You further acknowledge and agree that we will not be responsible for the loss or corruption of client supplied data, information or content used for the purposes of your Lean transformation initiatives or for the storage or processing of said data, information or content during the provision of our Services. You bear full responsibility for storage, archiving and backing up your data, information and/or content and bear sole liability for any lost corrupted data.

3. Copyright Policy

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users or clients to do the same. Unauthorized copying, modification, distribution, public display, or public performance of a copyrighted work is an infringement of the copyright holder’s rights, and expressly prohibited under our terms of service. Participants of our services provide and use training materials and services at their own risk. We do not monitor, retain, or save any client content beyond the duration of our Services.
